INTERTEXTUALITY IN MEDIA9/24/2020 Intertextuality is the references and influences found in one text that derive from another text. In the first picture the intertextuality is that between StarWars and FamilyGuy; FamilyGuy is directly referencing the cover art for The Empire Strikes Back and it is also referring to what occurs in the movie in a parody like way with the title. In the second picture the Simpsons is directly referencing Salvador Dalí's painting "The Persistence of Memory", by recreating the painting but with their own characters. Finally, in the third picture the Simpsons is directly referencing the Beatles album cover "Abbey Road", by recreating the picture but with their own characters in place of the band members.
